Events at the memorial in 2025 will be limited to small informal happenings around some of the key dates for the airfield. There will be no major event like June 2024.
Although the two glider towing squadrons took part in Operation Varsity, the Rhine landings on March 1945, they were then based in Woodbridge Suffolk. But there are other significant events in the year which we can celebrate with informal assemblies of Friends.


May 8th will see an informal gathering at the memorial and events in Wimborne and Blandford to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe day, VE Day. Beacons will be lit in the evening with one in Blandford at Woodhouse Garden.
June 5th will see the annual informal gathering in the evening to mark the start of Operation Coup de Main, the Pegasus Bridge operation.
July 5th will see an Armed Forces Expo in Legion House Blandford, Anne will run a small exhibition about the Glider Pilot Regiment and the Friends.
August 5th is marks the anniversary of another important glider operation that set out from Tarrant Rushton in 1944, Dingson 35a, which took French special forces into occupied Brittany.
September 17th will see another informal gathering to mark the Arnhem operations that started from Tarrant Rushton.

The TRAM committee will meet a couple of times this year and hold an annual Assembly in the Autumn.
