The first events in 2024 will be to celebrate the formal acquisition of the memorial site into the care of the Friends.
We then expect to complete the refurbishment of the memorial, replacing the front paving slabs with grass.
Then in May and June there will be several events to mark the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings.
On Saturday May 27th the Glider Pilot Regiment Society will hold a short service at noon.
On Saturday June 1st at 13:00 there will be service of memorial arranged by the Friends together with the Blandford Armed Forces & Veterans breakfast club, the Glider Pilot Regiment Society and the Blandford Royal British Legion.
On Thursday June 5th there will be an informal gathering from 19:00 of Friends to remember the first operations to leave Tarrant Rushton for the bridges.
On Tuesday September 17th there will be a Short Wave radio transmitter from the Signals Museum at Blandford based here and transmitting to others at Arnhem and elsewhere. In the evening, starting at 19:30, there will be a short service of remembrance at the memorial.
